Abstract
Self-compacting concrete (SCC) has become one of the most interest topics in construction due to numerous characteristics that can be distinguished compared to conventional concrete, such as decreasing construction cost by reducing the number of labors, saving time of casting, low noise in construction site and low CO2 emissions. The use of fibers in self-compacting concrete is vitally important in terms of conducting modern materials in the world construction as it reduces the thickness of structural elements and own weight of the structure. In this study, six concrete design mixtures containing (Fiber SCC (FR-SCC), Steel fiber (SFR-SCC), Glass Fiber (GFR-SCC), Polypropylene Fiber (PFR-SCC) and reference mixture without fiber (SCC) were adopted and compared in the fresh state. The comparison tests of fresh state covers (Slump Flow Test, J-ring Test, L-Box test and sieve segregation resistance Test. The aim of the study is to examine the possibility of adding FR-SCC, SFR-SCC, GFR-SCC and PFR-SCC in addition to superplasticizers with percentage of 2% cement weight, with a volumetric content of 0.1% Fiber equally for each concrete mix. The results show that the addition of fibers to self-compacting concrete caused a decrease in flowability, especially when glass fibers were used.it also shows the improvement in the segregation resistance with homogenous of mixing SCC which contain different types of fibers. In addition, reducing possibility of passing through obstruction in L-Box test has low values in flowability.
