Abstract
Agricultural production, which aims to produce food of good quality, must be carried out in accordance with environmental protection requirements. An issue of increasing importance in agriculture is the safe use of fertilisers in the agricultural environment. Fertilisers applied in liquid form enter the soil solution more quickly and are better absorbed by plants. The basic direction for the management of the digestate, after taking into account its physico-chemical properties, is the use of biosolids. A biogas plant located on agricultural land should receive organic products generated on their farms from farmers. Farmers, on the other hand, caring for the quality of the soils on their farm, should collect the biogas plant’s biogas digestate and use it for fertiliser purposes. The application of digestate in agriculture is a key process to realise the full potential of this valuable organic fertiliser. Techniques and methods for the application of digestate include a variety of approaches, such as field spraying, soil injection, application through a drip system, manual or mechanical spreading. Each of these techniques has its own advantages and limitations, which need to be taken into account when choosing the optimal application strategy depending on the type of crop, soil conditions and local regulations. Successful application of digestate can improve soil structure, increase soil fertility and reduce the need for mineral fertilisers. Understanding the different techniques and methods of digestate application is key to achieving sustainable agriculture and optimal use of natural resources. The use of digestate as a fertiliser increases the macro and micronutrient content of plants. Regulations for the production as well as the use of all fertilisers are becoming increasingly stringent. The use of digestate as digestate as a fertiliser can enable adequate yields to be achieved while reducing negative environmental impacts. In the available literature on the above subject, there are few studies on seed yield and quality after the application of digestate. Most authors focus on the production of biogas and thusand thus electricity production. In view of the above, it seems advisable and important to undertake research to provide information on the possibilities of replacing mineral fertilisers mineral fertilisers with liquid fertilisers, in this case digestate.
