Abstract
The subject of the analysis is the implemetation of an innovative design of a single-body, compact, made of polymer composites – a filtration chamber with replaceable filtration modules with the necessary accessories (skimmers, dispensers, filter mats) based on the natural filtration methods and the project of testing its efficiency for functionally swimming ponds of the second type. Typical solutions do not have the value of compactness and are difficult to use and modernize. They use undesirable chemical filtration and UV lamps that destroy beneficial microorganisms. The use of a new solution with replaceable filtration modules: mechanical; mineral with different adsorbent efficiency and biological with an extensive, self-regulating system based on the functional activity of zooplankton will allow for independent improvement of such a system. The concept includes testing the efficiency of a mineral filter with various types and adsorbent gradations with smooth water flow control, with the possibility of aerating the bed from the bottom and with the possibility of cleaning the bed in the chamber with compressed air with an outflow of impurities. The biological filtration module should be tested on the basis of the action potential of various species of zooplankton with known water filtration abilities, while selecting equipment that determines their optimal development (circulation pumps, filter mats). The prototype of a highly efficient, modular and compact filter chamber easily adapted to the quality needs of water in the facility should have significant implementation and commercialization potential for the investor, who decide to build one of the simplest and the cheapest solution – swimming pond of the second type. The modular, compact filtration system for water treatment with physical and biological methods is an expected solution for many pond users. The use of the natural functions of ponds contributes to the preservation of biodiversity, small retention and active recreation in a biologically living water ecosystem, to the benefit of the entire society and economy.
